When it comes to closet storage multitasking products make the most out of a small space and help keep clothes in good shape. It only takes a few key organizational tools, depending on your wardrobe, to create storage that turns a closet bursting at it’s seams into a well organized space.
Hangers have gone beyond your basic plastic version. Hangers have gone high tech, designed to provide custom storage for certain pieces or save space. Hangers that store multiple pairs of pants at once or allow a suit jacket and slacks to be stored together are a good way save space and stay organized. Create convenient storage for accessories with hangers designed to store everything from scarves to ties.

cedar shoe rack for 3-4 pairs of shoes
Consider products that are good for the items they are meant to store as well as the rest of your closet, like the cedar shoe rack for 3-4 pairs of shoes. Durable cedar construction not only helps with unwanted shoe smell, but is also a good way to absorb moisture and odors, while warding off moths and mildew. This is a great way to refresh shoes and protect sweaters.
Make the most of every free bit of space with an over the door organizer that provides just the right kind of storage to suit your needs. A door shoe rack is an easy way to take that pile of shoes on your closet floor. Have a large bag collection? Try a hand bag rack that puts your favorite bags at your fingertips and allows you to see them all at once.
Don’t have enough room in your dresser? Try a hanging closet organizer with open shelves perfect for storing sweaters or skirts too delicate to hang up. Some organizers combine shoe storage with larger compartments so you get the best of both worlds!

Coming home on a cold winter day usually involves abandoning bulky layers and heavy boots as soon as you come in the door. That often means unsightly piles of shoes and boots in the entryway, mudroom or garage. Putting coats and shoes away every day doesn’t always make sense when you know they’ll just get brought out again tomorrow. So what is the solution to having winter clothes at hand without the mess? With the right shoe storage and some organizational supplies you can turn any entry in your house into a neat and welcoming space.

2-Tier Stacking Metal Shoe Rack
Shoes damp from the rain or snow need properly ventilated storage that allows them to quickly dry off before your next outing. The 2-Tier Stacking Metal Shoe Rack from Stacks and Stacks has shelves that allow for enough air flow so that shoes can dry and water doesn’t get trapped. An open top shelf provides storage space for all those tall rain or snow boots, so you’re not tripping over them every time you come through the door.
A stackable design means you can create as much storage as you need, even providing enough shelf space to use a shoe rack as shelving to store some boxes or baskets. Use a basket to store winter accessories like hats and gloves, while a free standing coat rack or wall mounted rack make a convent place to hang coats and scarves.
Look for shoe racks with durable construction, like metal or wood, that can stand up to everyday use. Compact design that can be stored in a bedroom or hall closet the rest of the year allows you to get the most out of a shoe rack. Consider keeping a stackable shoe rack by the back door and in the garage during winter, then use them together in a coat closet to store seasonal shoes when you’re not using them in the summer.

Often times the messiest spaces in a home are the closets, where a mess can most easily be stored out of sight. While it’s important to keep a tidy home to share with guests, don’t underestimate how seeing a cluttered closet everyday makes you feel. Keeping a well organized closet, with personal touches and favorite pieces or images on display ensures that you start your day on the right foot and can even make getting ready in the morning fun!
Try thinking of your closest as a display space for all your favorite pieces. Consider taking a page from the way clothing stores present items, with special displays that are designed to show off each type of clothing. Larger or open closets offer the opportunity to display a favorite dress or jacket, hung facing out at the end of a rack. Sorting clothes by season, color or type, whatever works for you makes dressing in the morning a breeze.

Few things make my restless days better and brighter like a new shiny pair of shoes. I would not otherwise call myself a compulsive shopper, but shoes I simply cannot resist.
As you might have guessed, I accumulated a vast collection. I have five pairs of just black pumps, one for every little black dress in my closet. I have salsa dancing shoes, driving moccasins, office loafers, flirty flip-flops, comfy sneakers, sandals for every possible occasion and in every possible color, boots to go with skirts and boots to go with jeans, and a few extravagant heels that given the opportunity would greatly impress Lady Gaga.

shoe storage cubbies
It is only obvious that my pride and joy brought about the problem: where do I store all this stuff? For a long time all footwear was just piled on the floor of my closet, but when the pyramid started reaching dress hems I knew it was time for change. I needed more than just a conventional shoe rack, for those things usually accommodate no more than 12 pairs at a time, and I had many, many more.
Fortunately, today’s market is very sympathetic to the afflictions of a garden variety shoe aficionado. I found a great variety of shoe storage cubbies at Stacks and Stacks that flaunt both a stylish look and an ample capacity. Some are stackable, which is a definite plus for those with ever expanding footwear wardrobes. I personally prefer the ones with open storage sections for easy viewing, but the argument could be made that cubbies with doors have the advantage of keeping footwear dust-free. Smaller cubbies that double as seating benches are perfect for entryways and store your most frequently worn pairs where you need them most. Of course, tall multi-pair steel racks are perfect for those lucky few with walk-in closets.

How to survive the rainy, muddy fall season with the right shoe rack! I love fall, I absolutely love this change of season into cozy, cool weather and best of all the beginning of the holiday season! What I have a hard time with though, is that where I live, autumn is also when the rain starts to come down. And pour and pour it will over the next six months, which means that there will be mud outside and, inevitably, mud inside. Here are some tips to keep your floors as safe as possible from muddy boots and shoes. First, an ounce of prevention. A sturdy outdoor door mat is a must have in this department, what you want to look for is something that will literally brush the mud off your shoes for you before you even open the door. Then, once you are inside, you will want to have another door mat. But what is the best shoe rack to deal with this muddy yucky situation? The best shoe rack for dealing with mud I have found is one that comes with a tray under it, like this Three Tier Mudroom Shoe Rack. It has a great metal tray that actually looks pretty good with the dark wood frame, but most importantly it will capture mud and keep it off the floors. And since it has a very simple, flat, metal construction, you can literally just take it outside and hose it off once a week or as needed, no detailed cleaning required! Three shelves are there, making it a great choice for the entryway, where it will get tons of use by all members of the household. And since the shelves are large and open and very user-friendly, there will be no more excuses for putting shoes on the floor which means less cleanup for you!

I just found the cutest new shoe rack on the market, and best of all it is budget friendly, space efficient and even stylish. What more could you ask for in terms of shoe storage? The X Frame Ten Compartment Open Front Storage rack is perfect for small homes, tiny closets, dorm rooms and more. This compact shoe rack folds down to just 1 inch when not needed, so it’s easy to move it out of the way when guests come over or when you simply don’t need to use it for a while. The metal frame is sturdy yet lightweight, making this a great choice for college students going off to school in the fall. The interior is made of water resistant 600 denier polyester which is great because it can really stand up to wet, muddy shoes all year long. The cubbies in this shoe rack feature ample space for a pair of shoes, and since there are ten of them this is a great shoe rack for families in the mudroom or entryway, or for your personal shoe collection in the closet. Another great thing about this organizer is that it really is just an inexpensive shoe cubby. And I firmly believe that shoe cubbies are the absolute best way to keep your shoes organized, and they are especially handy for children. It’s so easy for a kid to use a shoe cubby and because of their curious nature they really want to at the same time! And don’t worry about getting this shoe storage rack dirty, the black polyester fabric on the inside will not even show when it has dirt and mud on it - a great choice! And you really just can’t beat the price, especially for something like this that will definitely be with you for years. Find a multitude of uses around the home for this shoe organizer!

Inexpensive Shoe Organizers are easy to find if you just know where to look and can be a little bit creative! One way to find an affordable shoe rack is to consider the materials. And plastic doesn’t have to be flimsy. For example, there are many styles of shoe organizers that use a combination of metal and plastic so that you have the best of both worlds - inexpensive plastic and strong metal. One such item that fits into this category is the Shoe and Boot Valet! This shoe rack is perfect for every situation around the home, and particularly useful for women’s shoes, or men who wear cowboy boots. This handy shoe rack is so cool because most shoe racks do not accommodate tall boots, but this one is designed to do that - and at the same time it can hold regular shoes up on top of the unit. Oftentimes I find that my winter boots get hidden in the back of the closet, all bent over and then they get creases on them and frequently I just have to replace them because let’s face it, they have been RUINED! Another way to go when looking for cheap shoe racks is size. Can you get by with a smaller capacity for shoes that people will see left out in the hall or entryway, and then keep the rest of your shoes in boxes at the back of your closet? This will allow you to have a neat, presentable shoe storage area and have access to your most used shoes, while not having to see the clutter or spend a fortune on a high capacity rack.

Read on for an all encompassing guide and review of shoe shelves. Shoe racks come in varying forms, as we know, and one of the most popular are shoe shelves! What is a shoe shelf? It’s like a bookcase, but it’s not for books, it’s for shoes! I’ve tried out so many different types of shoe racks, and I can honestly say, and I believe I am a fair and qualified judge in this matter, that besides over the door shoe racks, which are my absolute favorite, shoe shelves offer the second best way to keep shoes neat and tidy and off the floor. The first thing I love about shoe rack shelves is that they are really easy to use. You (and your husband and kids) can easily toss your shoes up on the shelf, no opening doors or drawers necessary - really, it doesn’t get much easier than this! Another thing I like about them is that they offer ample air circulation - no stinky shoe smell hiding out in the closet or cabinet, the air circulates keeping shoes fresh on these racks. And lastly, I like shoe shelves because they can be used anywhere - by the front door, in the closet, outside the home, and more. Here are some bonus features you can look for when looking for a new shoe rack with shelves. Open slats versus solid shelves: I prefer the open slats, just make sure you have a tray or rug underneath to catch dirt particles. Folding, like this Stacking Shoe Rack by Winsome - not only is it attractive, it folds up easily when not needed. Another thing I like in a shoe rack is if it has room for improvement in the way of volume. For example, some shoe racks expand in width and some are stackable, allowing you to store more shoes without taking up anymore floor space!
