Traveling shouldn’t mean you have to compromise on style, by finding the right travel accessories you can bring everything you need to look good with you. Using the right travel bags or supplies doesn’t have to be bulky, they can often help you save space and your clothes from travel wear and tear.
When traveling with a suit or dressing for a special occasion a portable steamer is a quick way to refresh clothes. Some delicate fabrics can be easily ruined by an overheated iron, with a steamer burning is never a problem. For more durable fabric a small iron and ironing board is a good way to get ready for the day. When possible pack at least two options for a special occasion so you give yourself choices in case the weather changes or you decide on a different look.
Shoe bags are a great way to store shoes at home and on the go. When packing shoes with the rest of your clothes and getting them dirty, use a shoe bag that protects both. The set of 9 travel shoe bags is a good way to keep freshly polished leather shoes looking good and ready to wear.

Feel like you’re running out of storage? Get creative and make the most of unused storage in your home. Harder to reach areas are ideal for seasonal items like winter coats or holiday decorations that don’t need to be accessed on a regular basis. Think about parts of your home that have concealed storage you’re not using, like under a bed or inside an ottoman.

16 pair underbed vinyl shoe storage chest
Since beds cover lots of floor space, there is lots of free space underneath. Since this area can be hard to access, having the proper storage is a must. Try an option like the 16 pair underbed vinyl shoe storage chest to store seasonal shoes. A rope handle makes pulling the chest out easy and it’s soft exterior allows it to fit in a tight or oddly shaped space. With individual compartments it can also be store winter accessories.
Under bed storage is also a good place to store travel accessories like suit bags or other luggage that folds flat. When it’s time for your next trip simply pull out the storage container and grab what you need to pack! Sometimes it can be difficult to find a place to store awkwardly shaped items like wrapping paper. A long, narrow box like an under bed container provides the perfect storage.
Try an oversized ottoman with interior storage for piling in extra pillows and blankets that can clutter up a living room. Coffee tables with lift tops aren’t always great for storing things you need to grab everyday since you probably want to store things on top, but it is a great place to store anything you don’t need easy access to. Get creative and you’ll be surprised by the amount of extra storage you can find.

When it comes to closet storage multitasking products make the most out of a small space and help keep clothes in good shape. It only takes a few key organizational tools, depending on your wardrobe, to create storage that turns a closet bursting at it’s seams into a well organized space.
Hangers have gone beyond your basic plastic version. Hangers have gone high tech, designed to provide custom storage for certain pieces or save space. Hangers that store multiple pairs of pants at once or allow a suit jacket and slacks to be stored together are a good way save space and stay organized. Create convenient storage for accessories with hangers designed to store everything from scarves to ties.

cedar shoe rack for 3-4 pairs of shoes
Consider products that are good for the items they are meant to store as well as the rest of your closet, like the cedar shoe rack for 3-4 pairs of shoes. Durable cedar construction not only helps with unwanted shoe smell, but is also a good way to absorb moisture and odors, while warding off moths and mildew. This is a great way to refresh shoes and protect sweaters.
Make the most of every free bit of space with an over the door organizer that provides just the right kind of storage to suit your needs. A door shoe rack is an easy way to take that pile of shoes on your closet floor. Have a large bag collection? Try a hand bag rack that puts your favorite bags at your fingertips and allows you to see them all at once.
Don’t have enough room in your dresser? Try a hanging closet organizer with open shelves perfect for storing sweaters or skirts too delicate to hang up. Some organizers combine shoe storage with larger compartments so you get the best of both worlds!

Coming home on a cold winter day usually involves abandoning bulky layers and heavy boots as soon as you come in the door. That often means unsightly piles of shoes and boots in the entryway, mudroom or garage. Putting coats and shoes away every day doesn’t always make sense when you know they’ll just get brought out again tomorrow. So what is the solution to having winter clothes at hand without the mess? With the right shoe storage and some organizational supplies you can turn any entry in your house into a neat and welcoming space.

2-Tier Stacking Metal Shoe Rack
Shoes damp from the rain or snow need properly ventilated storage that allows them to quickly dry off before your next outing. The 2-Tier Stacking Metal Shoe Rack from Stacks and Stacks has shelves that allow for enough air flow so that shoes can dry and water doesn’t get trapped. An open top shelf provides storage space for all those tall rain or snow boots, so you’re not tripping over them every time you come through the door.
A stackable design means you can create as much storage as you need, even providing enough shelf space to use a shoe rack as shelving to store some boxes or baskets. Use a basket to store winter accessories like hats and gloves, while a free standing coat rack or wall mounted rack make a convent place to hang coats and scarves.
Look for shoe racks with durable construction, like metal or wood, that can stand up to everyday use. Compact design that can be stored in a bedroom or hall closet the rest of the year allows you to get the most out of a shoe rack. Consider keeping a stackable shoe rack by the back door and in the garage during winter, then use them together in a coat closet to store seasonal shoes when you’re not using them in the summer.

Just kidding, anyone with a love of shoes can benefit from a sturdy shoe box, even a minor upgrade from the cardboard shoe boxes handed out at stores is a great idea! There are many options out there, from plastic to fabric, wicker and more. But what should you do with your “splurge” shoes? You know, the ones that cost one quarter of your mortage payment last month? You can’t simply place your designer shoes on a shelf, or on the floor, or even in the cardboard box they came in. If your shoes cost more than 100 dollars, you can expect to get good resale value for them down the road someday, but only if you take very good care of them in the meantime. One way to do that is to invest in some nice shoe boxes, and I think canvas is a great choice. For a more multi purpose product that you can use for years for shoes or other types of storage, a simple Cotton Canvas Storage Box is the way to go. Since you will literally have this storage container forever, you will want it to be sturdy, and also to protect what is inside. And this box truly does that. The material used is heavy duty breathable cotton canvas – heavy duty means you can use it for many years, and breathable is so important, especially for natural material shoes like leather, suede and other shoes that are sensitive to moisture – you don’t want moisture to ruin your expensive footwear, but you also don’t want to let moths or other insects to get in there and ruin things. For this reason, a fully closed shoe box is important and luckily this one is – a zipper runs around the perimeter of the box to keep items safe and sound!

Shoe racks are increasingly being built into other types of furniture, as more and more manufacturers are seeing the demand for shoes, and therefore shoe organizers, increase! When you think about it, most rooms in the house could benefit from a shoe rack, keeping shoes off the floor and ready to use at a moment’s notice. For example, I live in the country, so shoes are always required for going outside no matter what. So, shoes tend to collect each one of the three exits from the home. (This is easier for us than having to go to the front door and pick out shoes when we are exiting through the garage). Another place they tend to collect are in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Wherever your problem shoe area is in the home, there is most likely a multi-functional furniture piece with hidden shoe storage in it. Read On:
Entryway:
The entryway is a common place for the shoe-pileup to happen. It also provides a great opportunity for organizing coats, mail, keys, purses and more! This Entryway Organizer has everything from a mirror for last minute touch ups before heading out the door, to key hooks and even a revolving cabinet on the bottom that makes an ideal shoe rack!
Bedroom or Bathroom:
A wardrobe with shoe rack built-in offers maximum storage of clothes and shoes. Use this wardrobe in the guest bedroom, or a bedroom-conversion that is lacking a closet. It zips to keep dust out, which makes it an ideal candidate for the garage as well. Keep out of season clothes and shoes tucked away in this wardrobe for a more organized home.
Whatever your shoe organizing needs are, I assure you that there is a solution out there for you that will work for your household. It may come in the form of a shoe rack, or it may be hidden within another piece of furniture!

Being environmentally friendly is in. Here’s one way you can do your part in your closet! Read on…
I’ve blogged before about eco friendly shoes, and what you can do with old shoes to help the environment instead of harming it, and now I’m going to take it a step further. If you are in the market for a new shoe organizer, and you like to shop green, an environmentally shoe rack may be the right choice for you! There are many different ways you can go with this. One way is to buy a product that is chemical free, like a cedar shoe rack that is left unfinished. Just make sure first that it is made of a replenish type of cedar, like a farmed red cedar. Another way is to use something you already have around the home, or search ebay or craigslist for something used. Better yet, get yourself to the goodwill or Salvation Army for a pre-used shoe rack. If you really want to buy one, though, this environmentally friendly shoe rack gets two green thumbs up from me. This shoe organizer is made of 70% recycled plastic bottles, a fine way to make good use of wasted materials, turning them into something nice and new so that consumers have a choice of buying green planet friendly products. This shoe rack has 20 pockets, for holding ten pairs of shoes, but is also great for organizing socks, scarves, and other accessories. Best of all, it hangs over the door, one of the most space-efficient shoe storage options on the market, and requires no assembly or drilling. Use it in the hall closet as the family shoe rack, in the kids room for small toys and stuffed animals, or in your own closet for easy access to your most used shoes!
